Revlon "Beyond Natural" Eyeshadow Quad Review

(Found it at a Christmas Tree Shops for around $3, can't find retail price online)

I'm just going to start of by saying I do NOT like this product. If you have more time to read, I will go into more detail. But, if you are in a rush, you know. I do not reccomend this quad.

Ok, so these shadows stink. They have no color payoff, and with a primer, crease like crazy in only a few hours. The colors in the pan look really pretty, but once they are on your eye, they dissapear. Even the dark brown only leaves a tint of bron, barely any color.

I would not reccomend this product, 1 star! :(

Purple Sky On The Beach Makeup Tutorial

Good morning Harajuku Darlings! Today I will be doing a new tutorial of a makeup look I came up with. It uses the products from my July Favorites post, and I will be listing the product's prices and where they're sold on that blog tonight. Anyway, on to the tutorial :).

(I put some Expensive Pink -Mac- eyeshadow on the inner half of my lower lash line)

Step 1. Prime your eyelids and under your eyes
This step is essential in insuring your makeup lasts all day and is vibrant. I go between primers, but for this look I usually use Too Faced Shadow Insurance. ($18, Sephora and Ulta stores.)

Step 2. Apply a peachy-gold shimmer to the inner half of your lid.
I use All That Glitters for this step, and using any flat brush, pat the color onto the inner half of your lid. I use an Eco Tools Concealer Brush for this step. It came in a set, so I am not positive of its price, but it is sold at drugstores and Ulta, and is pretty cheap. In price, not quality. It's good quality... the price is cheap. You get what I mean!

Step 3. Apply a mid-toned purple frosty shadow onto the outer half of your lid, and blend into the crease.
I use Parfait Amour for this step. And using a small dome shaped brush with packed bristles (I use the Sephora Platinum Cream Shadow Brush, $18, Sephora). Pack the color onto the brush and pack it onto the outer half of your lid, blending upward, adding more shadow to your brush as you go.

Step 4. Highlight
Using a frosty white shadow (Sephora Eyeshadow in Aspen Summit, $12) highlight under your the highest point of your browbone and inner corner or tearduct.

Step 5. Black Pencil Liner
Using a waterproof pencil eyeliner in blank, line the outer 3/4 of your eye and your waterline. Don't put any liner on the bottom lashline. For this step I use Make Up Forever's Aqua Eyes Liner in Black.

Step 6. Bring down Some Color.
Before you smudge the black liner, smudge some of the purple color on the outer half of your bottom lashline using a flat smudge brush, not a dome one. You don't want too much color. Just a smidge. I use a Sonia Kashuk brush I got ina set a few years back, from Target.

Step 7. Smudge the Liner.
Take a black shadow of your choice (Maybelline's Night Sky, $3.99), and after wiping it off really well, take the smudge brush with the black shadow and smudge out your black liner. This is to create a smokey effect and make your eyelashes look thicker.

Step 8. Mascara
Curl Your Lashes and apply your mascara. Read my mascara routine for how I do it. I'm too lazy to repeat it.

And Voila! The look is done! Finish it off with whatever lipgloss/blush you like. Have a great day!

July Favorites

Good Whatever-time-of-day-it-is! Today I will be listing my favorites of July!

1. My Juicy Trickster Messenger Bag!

($178, Bloomingdale's Sores, Juicy Couture website, Zappo's)

OMG! I actually got it! If you read my post of what I'm wanting for school, you know I REALLY wanted this backpack! It's absolutely gorgeous and is very spacious. It's fabric is either. Cotton or canvas, and is very, very strong. The short handal us a vary strong leather, and the shoulder strap is a very thick and tough canvas with a movable leather pad forn your shoulder, so the bag doesn't slip off of your shoulder. It also can be worn as a crossbody, which is a cool style option! Even if I don't get to use it until September, it is still a July favorite!

2. Mac's Parfait Amour Eyeshadow

($14.50, Mac Counters and Stores)

This is my absolute favorite eyeshadow! It brings out my brown eyes and isn't too dramatic, I wear it everyday. You can also make it dramatic with darker shadows along with it. It is kinda frosty (It's a Frost :P), so if that isn't your piece of cake, I wouldn't reccomend it. But because I do, I love it!!

3. Makeup For Ever Aqua Eyes Eyeliner

($18, Sephora -this is a sample, they're not this tiny :)-)

I got a sample of this eyeliner and it is the best I have ever had. It is the only pencil eyeliner (scratch that, eyeliner *in general*) that has stayed on my eyes ALL DAY. I know people have sworn on the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners, but I hated them. Lover urban Decay, but not their liners. This eyeliner is potent, and blendable... before it drys. When this eyeliner dries, it doesn't budge. They don't call it 24/7 for nothing... oh wait...

4. My Harajuku Lover's Pencil Case

($5 on Sephora's website -online exclusive-)

I ordered this off of Sephora's website for DIRT CHEAP (it's an online exclusive), and its GORGEOUS. It's vinyl, which will wipe clean of any dirt a pencil case's contents may bring. Anyway, this pencil case is so me! The print is ADORABLE, and I can't wait to use it.

5. Maybelline's Night Sky Eyeshadow

($3.99 at drugstores)

I use this eyeshdow to smoke out my liner and it always looks fantastic! It is a great shadow for a great price :). Keep in mind, it does have glitter, but it doesnt come out in chunks or cause major fallout, so I could care less ;).

6. Sephora Eyeshadow in Aspen Summit

($12, Sephora)

This is my absolute favorite highlight color; it's the only one I'll use! It is an extremely frosty, pigmented white, and makes eyes pop!

7. Mac Eyeshadow in All That Glitters

($14.50, Mac Counters and Stores)

This is the best eyeshadow for everyday. It is a peachy-gold shimmer that makes eyes look very pretty. I wear it everyday with Parfait Amour.

8. Stila Lip Glaze Trio in Warm

($12, ULTA)

As I said in my Stila Lip Glaze Review, I love these lipglosses. They are such pretty, pigmented colors, and have great staying power! I love them!

9. Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Shower Gel

($24 for Super Size, QVC)

This is my #1 favorite of July. My mom suprised me with this shower gel when I tried it at my grandmother's and wanted it so bad! It smells exactly like cinnamon buns and is so thick a little goes a long way!
Thanks for reading! I know this was long, but I thought It'd be fun! Night!

Cover Girl Lipslicks Review

$6.99 at drugstores

I just wanted to start off by apologizing for not posting in like a week. I've been reading Les Miserables... Not 'cause I want to, but because I HAVE too. Ugh. Anyway, Today I was in Shop Rite with my grandmother in the makeup isle and saw these lipglosses. Usually I am not a huge Cover Girl fan, but my favorite lipgloss ever was one of their plain old lipsticks in the color Clear Gloss. A lipstick!! And it was my favorite one ever, until it BROKE and when I put it in an empty eyeshadow tin my mom threw it away!! (By accident, of course.). Anyway, I saw these tinted Lip Slicks in the isle and was peeking through the colors when I saw one called Clear. I swear, I have never been more excited to see a piece of makeup in my whole life!! And it was Cover Girl! I really need to refrain my use of explanation points... Anyway, it is exactly like my old lipstick which I forgot to mention was DISCONTINUED, and it is amazing! The color in the tube is pinky shimmer, but comes on completely clear and glossy. It is very moisturizing, and feels great on your lips. I would swatch it, but it's clear... LOVE!! Out of 5 stars I would give it a 6! Oh and one huge plus... It smells like babies!!! You know, like baby wipes, I guess. I don't know, it just smells like babies!

Stila Lip Glaze Review

$22 at Sephora and ULTA

First off, I did not buy each of these seperately. There is actually a set at ULTA for $12 with three shades of these; Apricot, Creme Boquet, and Chocolate. I'm not sure if they're full size, but the Lip Glazes seem pretty large for the price! $4 a piece is cheap for any brand of lipgloss, let alone Stila!

Anyway, as for the lipglosses themselves, I really do like them. The colors are sheer, but in a good way. They also pack pretty good staying power. The formula is thick, but not sticky, which is a major perk. The colors are very summery, and I like the way you twist them up. I feel like I'm never wasting it or using too much product. I would definitly recommend them to anyone wanting a good lipgloss :). 5 stars!

Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow Review

$17(ULTA, Sephora)

As you can see, I only have two shades of the Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadows, and one of them isn't even available anymore. The one that is available however, Naked (toupe-y brown), is available at Ulta and Sephora. The one not available, Foxy, is a more of a creamy highlight color. But now Urban Decay has a more peachy color, similar to Foxy, called ABC Gum. As I said, it is more peachy, but it serves the same purpose. Sorry, I feel like I'll never start the actual review! Well, like any Urban Decay shadow, it is very silky. But, with that comes so much shadow on whatever brush your using that you more times than not use much more shadow than your little lids need. Otherwise, the shadows have great pigmentation and color payoff. Even with Foxy, you can see the shadow on the lid, which is rare. With that, 4 stars!

Grr...

I'm so upset right now! I am in the process of redoing my room, and had purchased a green curtain to use in it a few months ago. Well, instead of hanging the curtains up immediately, I used it as table cloth. I know, dumb idea. Especially when you put a machine on it (craft machine) with "nubbies" that stain! Now look at my curtain!

Yep, fail. I tried using Oxy Clean to get the stains out, but so far, no luck. But, I like the green, so they're staying. Maybe I could sew like a poster on it.. Or maybe a Harajuku head!

Things Im Lusting Over: School Necessities

I am someone who is alwas excited to start picking out my school supplies early. The only problem is that my school hasn't given out stationary lists yet! But, I won't let that hamper my search (hamper? LOL) for the most glamorous (remember, I'm LUSTING) school supplies I can find.

1. Juicy Couture Trickster Messenger
Price: $178, Zappo's, Juicy Couture Website (not in stores, I checked -_-)

I LOVE this backpack. I actually think I might purchase it. It seems large enough for my large volume of school books, but without compromising fashion. It's red interior turned me off at first, but now it's one of the things that makes it so irresistible to me! I love the leather "Juicy" on the front of the bag, and the "Rock My Couture" on the back. I'll review the bag if I end up buying it.

2. Coach New Baby Bag Patent Tote in Berry
Price: $358 at Coach stores and the Coach website

Before you laugh at me, YES I know it is a baby bag! But, the lady working at the Coach store in my mall told me it would make the perfect backpack, and that no one even uses it as a diaper bag! Most people use it for business, because the patent leather is easy to clean, and it is VERY spacious with many pockets. Bonus Plus: Patent leather is very strong, so you can use this for years to come!

Harajuku Mini for Target

Price: $1 for the folders, $2.50 for the notebooks at Target stores

Harajuku Darling is in her Harajuku heaven! I bought these at Target today, and I am SUPER excited! They are cheaper than any folders at Staples, and they're DESIGNER. I love them! Sorry I keep capitalizing and using exclamation points. But, these are my most loved lust. I'm most definitely buying more :).

I will continue this series throught the summer, so keep on reading! Have a beautiful evening!

How To: Get the Best Lashes!

I have figured out the way to get the fullest, most voluminous yet non-clumpy lashes. I will lay it out in steps.

1. Curl your lashes. I use La Cross eyelash curler. I am not sure the price, but I am pretty sure I purchased it at CVS.

2. Apply a dry, nourishing water-resistant mascara. I highly recommend Smashbox Bionic Mascara ($19, www.sephora.com). This is one mascara that I don't think can be duped. It is a very unique formula; dry, but leaves lashes with a perfect, natural effect. Very defined and seperated. It's an investment, but it is essential in a mascara-layering effect.

3. Apply a wet, waterproof volumizing mascara. I use Loreal Voluminous Marcara. I'm not sure of the price, but I see it at all drugstores and at ULTA. But, any waterprrof volumizing mascar will work, but it has to be a wet formula, with a large brush. Maybelline's Great Lash will not do. The brush is too small.

And Voila!!! Your lashes are complete. You will see these lashes will not flake, and are volumized, yet defined. Beautiful!

Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation Review

Tonight I'm reviewing Maybelline's Fit Me! Foundation. I purchased the foundation tonight but am in love with it already. This foundation offers great coverage and color selection for a reasonable price. As you can tell by the photo I am color 235 in the Neutrals category. The color blends into my skin seamlessly, and has a very nice satin finish. It isn't too matte, or too oily, which is difficult to find in a drugstore, or rather any foundation. I was looking to buy the Stila Perfect and Correct Foundation ($44, sephora.com) but wanted to try a cheaper alternative before I invested. I had a sample of the Stila One Step Makeup and adored it, but sadly, it was discontinued. So I was looking for something with comparable coverage, but this foundation blows it out of the water with an even larger color selection. I would recommend this foundation to everyone lookin for a full to medium coverage foundation with a satin finish. 5 Stars!!!
(I would swatch the foundation, but since I only have one color, and you cannot see the texture on my wrist, I'm not)

I'm excited to announce that now that it is summer I will be throwing myself into the world of blogging, tutorial-ing, and reviewing. My summers are very uneventful, so this will be a way to occupy my time. Im going to think of this as like my own magazine I make by myself :D. Stay tuned!
